Mahjong At The Merc

The Davis Street Mercantile Mahjong 101 and Guided Play Workshop transforms you from a curious beginner into a confident solo player, turning the third Wednesday of every month into a lively night of strategy, learning, and fun. Held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM right at the Mercantile, this comprehensive social workshop is specifically designed for absolute beginners who have never touched a tile, as well as players who want to build their confidence for casual game nights.  The evening kicks off with 1.5 hours of detailed classroom instruction covering the vibrant history, unique vocabulary, and fundamental gameplay rules, before shifting into a supportive 30-minute guided play session to conquer analysis paralysis. Guests are highly encouraged to arrive a little early to fill up a wine glass, browse the shop's curated collection of stunning boutique Mahjong tiles and hostess gifts, and claim a favorite seat at the table.
